Member Levels
Each Super Forum identifies 7 different "Member Levels" as the picture below shows:
Each Member Level represents a higher level of participation in that particular Super Forum. Participation is calculated by the number of postings (either main postings or replies) made in that Super Forum. Once you reach the required number of postings within a Super Forum your SuperStar name will be bolded and display in the appropriate color. For example, if you reach "Cute" status in the PickUp Line Super Forum your name will be bolded and light green on the main page of THAT Super Forum, not in the other three. This SuperStar Voting FAQ applies to the following pages: http://www.datingsuperstar.com/storiesvote.asp, http://www.datingsuperstar.com/linesvote.asp, http://www.datingsuperstar.com/dodontvote.asp, and http://www.datingsuperstar.com/picturesvote.asp. This is where you cast your vote for which posting is worthy of the title "Dating SuperStar". You can only vote once for a particular posting. When a particular posting garners enough votes then the posting is moved onto the SuperStars page for that respective Super Forum. The owner of the posting is sent an email with special access to a Super Stars page. There they will enter their address and I'll ship them a prize pack.Postings are chosen for the voting pages based on the following criteria:
- The posting is older than 1 day but younger than 3 months that means your message has only 3 months to garner enough votes. The timeframe is subject to change.
- The average recommendation or rating must be a 3 out of 5 or higher if none of the postings have a rating above 3 then the voting page will be empty. This minimum rating is subject to change.
- The rating for the posting must be among the top 4 or tied for the top 4 this makes the voting page very dynamic. The 4th highest rated posting on the voting page will be moved off as soon as another posting gets a higher average rating.

Dating Challenge
The Dating Challenge (http://www.datingsuperstar.com/challenge.asp) is the crown jewel of Dating SuperStar.com. First you choose if you are a guy or a girl. (Simple enough, right?) Then you enter a few names of some people in your life. (The challenge is more fun if you can envision the people.) Then you begin the Dating Challenge. The names you chose will be used in a story about dating. At the end of each story, you choose the next step. You continue choosing the next step until you get to the end of the challenge at which point you'll receive a score on how well you did. Your score will be recorded and averaged with all your other Dating Challenge scores. You'll also be able to see where you rank among the other members. There are over 75 different scores for each dating challenge which means you can have a lot of fun and maybe learn something too! The decisions aren't easy and the scores can go pretty low. Sifting through the member pages will give you a better idea of who you are talking to.When you click on a member's name you will be redirected to another page with all of their information. Why do I have to register and login?

The content that members post to Dating SuperStar.com is contained on restricted pages. The only way to get past the restriction is to have a "cookie" on your computer. You get this cookie by either registering or logging in. You can only login if you have registered already and remember your name and password.Without

and doesn't require your personal information anyone can still see all of the

Why should I accept the registration "cookie"?
The cookie is to save you from logging in every day. It is a simple text file containing some code that only Dating SuperStar.com will recognize. If you are on a computer that other people have access to, you should logout when you are done. The logout link is located just underneath the top banner ad. If you wish to delete the cookie, run a search in Explorer for "*cookie*" and you will see the directories where the cookie resides. How do I win free stuff and how often can I win?
There are a number of ways to win free prize packs:- If you submit a posting in a Super Forum and it collects enough votes you'll earn the title of Dating SuperStar and be awarded a prize pack. Find out more at How do I become a SuperStar?
- 20 referrals gets you a prize pack. Just send an email to your friends inviting them to check out Dating SuperStar.com and cc WolfGang@DatingSuperStar.com. If anyone registers with one of those email addresses within the next 30 days then I'll credit you with one referral. When you get 20, I'll email you to let you know you've won.
- If you find an error or a bug on my website, send me an email describing it. If you are the first one to tell me about it and it turns out to be a legitimate bug then I'll credit you with one, five or ten points (depending on how major the bug is). Once you get 20 points, I'll send you a prize pack. Errors and bugs include: misspelled words, incorrect hyperlinks, broken functionality and the like.

How do I become a SuperStar?
Becoming a Dating SuperStar isn't going to be easy... but it will be worth it! There are 2 ways to become a Dating SuperStar:- Submit a posting in one of the 4 Super Forums. If it becomes one of the top-rated postings then it will move on to the SuperStar Voting page. If the posting gets enough votes before its time expires, the author will earn the title of Dating SuperStar!
- The highest Member Level is "SuperStar". Once a user reaches that level in a Super Forum their name will be displayed in bright orange and earn the envy of all his or her friends.
How do I get a URL for my Picture?
Unfortunately, pictures use up a lot of memory. Since memory costs money and my site is completely free, I can't afford to store everyone's pictures. Therefore, I need your picture stored on another site. If you give me the URL (i.e. http://www.datingsuperstar.com/images/logosuperstar17c.gif) then I can link to it without having to use up memory. This is called Hot Linking. If you click on that last link you'll notice a few things: 1) there's nothing else on the page, 2) the file ends with a picture file extension (such as ".jpg" or ".gif") and 3) the URL contains "http://". This is the format I need in the URL box on http://www.datingsuperstar.com/picturespost.asp.The directory on a website works the same way Explorer or File Manager does. On my home computer, I have that same file at C:/MyWebs/datingsuperstar/images/logosuperstar17c.gif. http://www.datingsuperstar.com/images/logosuperstar17c.gif is where that file is stored on my website. Now what you need is a place to upload your pictures. You need to get a website or domain hosting. You can easily get this for a few bucks per year. If you look on a search engine (i.e. www.google.com, www.yahoo.com) for web hosting you will find a lot of sites that offer this. For your convenience, I've negotiated a special web hosting deal with www.Rodstar.net. They are very low cost to begin with plus DatingSuperStar.com members receive 2 free months when they sign up for a year! They also will help you find a domain name if you'd like one.
There are a
couple of things to watch out for:
1. Free web-hosting sites such as http://angelfire.lycos.com/,
http://www.brinkster.com/Default.asp,
and http://www.msnusers.com will let you
upload your pictures into a directory but they will not let you Hot Link to
them. Hotlinking is when you link to images or NON-html files from another host.
Hotlinking is typically not allowed on free accounts. Even though you can see
the picture when you type in the URL, Dating SuperStar.com won't be able to Hot
Link to your picture.
There is potentially a way around this, however. Change the extention of your
file to ".txt" instead of a picture extention. For example, if your picture is title "sun.jpg" change
the file name to "sun.txt". You can either edit the name in Explorer or save as from your photo
editing program and manually enter ".txt" after the name. If the URL you are trying to use is
"http://www.geocities.com/username/images/sun.gif" then you will instead use "http://www.geocities.com/username/images/sun.txt"
after you upload the file "sun.txt".
2. It's important to realize
the difference between getting some web space and getting a photo album. A
photo album (i.e. http://photos.yahoo.com/,
http://www.ofoto.com/Welcome.jsp)
doesn't give you a URL for your picture. You want to look for "web
hosting" which is essentially the same as file manager except on the Internet
instead of your computer.
Let's look at an example.
Rodstar.net has graciously offered us some
web space and a directory called "images" under a directory called
"datingsuperstar." The image name is "sun.gif". This is now my URL for that image:
http://www.rodstar.net/datingsuperstar/images/sun.gif.
The screen looks like this:
Note on this picture that
the URL on the "Address" bar is exactly what I have above. You need to cut and
paste what's in the Address bar into the URL box on http://www.datingsuperstar.com/picturespost.asp.
If you don't see the Address bar, pull down View from the menu in
Internet Explorer, select Toolbars and make sure Address Bar is

For a limited
time Rodstar.net will host your pictures for you.
They have made a directory just for you: http://www.rodstar.net/datingsuperstar/images/.
Send an email from

with your picture attached (size < 200kB). Then go to either http://www.datingsuperstar.com/picturespost.asp
or http://www.datingsuperstar.com/updateinfo.asp
and fill in the Title and Picture Description fields and the
Rodstar.net URL above

named "Crazy-eyed-Willy.jpg", send me the picture in an email and then

(case-sensitive) in the URL box. You will see your picture within 48 hours.
This
convenience will last until we've used up 5MB of Rodstar.net

Is Dating SuperStar.com Really Free?
The truth is that I am NEVER going to require you to pay money to use any part of Dating SuperStar.com. The answer to the question above is YES Dating SuperStar.com is free. However, I do have the ability to make some money through banner ads. Making money is NOT one of my goals for developing this website, however, it is a metric I will use to measure the success of my work. What I mean by "my work" is both the quality of Dating SuperStar.com and my ability to market the website effectively. I would like to recoup my expenses. I won't bore you with what those expenses are or how much they are but I'm hopeful that I can do it because then I can continue to upgrade this website as the members wish.Use this website knowing that you'll be consulted before any major policy changes take effect. Keep in mind that I would ideally like the banner ads to be helpful for you. If you find a banner ad of interest and purchase a product through my banner ad you should feel good about making a contribution to my efforts.
